SE Ukraine wants an open process by the “gas” case Tymoshenko

Today, on June 24, Court in Kiev will begin a preliminary review of the criminal case with respect to gas contracts in 2009 against ex-premier Yulia Tymoshenko. Tymoshenko called the court "tribunal." Against Tymoshenko in Ukraine were initiated three criminal cases. The first concerns the unlawful use of money received by Ukraine from the sale of quotas for greenhouse gases under the Kyoto Protocol. The second relates to the illegal, according to the Prosecutor General's Office, purchase of ambulances at inflated prices. The investigation brought together these two cases in one proceeding. Also, prosecutors opened a criminal case against former prime minister, concerning the signing of the 2009 gas contracts with Russia, in which Tymoshenko is accused of abuse of power and damage to the state. The investigation is completed in all cases currently Tymoshenko met with the materials of the first case. Earlier, the court limited the period of familiarization with the "gas affair" with respect to Tymoshenko – up to 16 June inclusive. Later, the court also limited the period of familiarization with the second criminal case against former prime minister – to 25 June inclusive. According to "Azatutyun" Radio Station the ex-premier Yulia Tymoshenko denies all the charges against her and thinks that this process is of political nature.
