YEREVAN, MARCH 16, NOYAN TAPAn. At the March 16 sitting, the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) - Armenia SNCO Management Board approved the third allocation bid to be submitted to the Millennium Challenge Corporation, as well as the report on preconditions of the 3rd quarter of the program's first year. According to the RA Government Information and PR Department, among activities to be done in the first quarter of 2007 are development of the concept and the implementation methodology of research on communities, water user unions, "From Water to Market" program, etc. During the sitting, the quarterly report (October -December 2006) on progress of the MCA-Armenia Program was discussed and approved, results of assessment of technical proposals submitted to the tender for purchase of advisory services "Design and Control of Construction of 6 Main Irrigation Canals", and other issues related to the program's implementation were discussed. It was noted that the program already has an approved working and financial plan, whose main directions are rural road rehabilitation (67 mln USD) and "Irrigated Agriculture" Program (146 mln USD, 32 mln USD of which is the component "From Water to Market").
