Armen Gevorgyan received the delegation headed by the USA Deputy State Secretary

On June 13, RA Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of regional management Armen Gevorgyan received the delegation headed by Thomas Melia, the Deputy State Secretary of the Bureau of democracy, human rights and labor of the USA.
The Deputy State Secretary especially marked out the activities of the board on the issues of trafficking led by RA Deputy Prime Minister. “We highly praised the activities carried out in this sphere. We want to continue the work and cooperation for Armenia to improve its position”, noted the guest.
For his part, A. Gevorgyan thanked the USA Embassy and the former Ambassador Marie Jovanovitch, by whose efforts it was also possible to state the progress in the struggle against trafficking.
He touched upon the work carried out in the sphere, noting that the most important is the solution of redtape issue and the regulation of the cooperation between different figures. The Deputy Prime Minister mentioned the involvement of social sector in the work for having success. A. Gevorgyan also touched upon the international cooperation, noting that besides the USA, the work is carried out with the OSCE, UN, and EU.
The sides discussed the issues of appropriate implementation of legal obligations by regional and local self-government institutions.
