WORK OF 72 BLN DRAMS DONE BY YEREVAN MAYOR'S OFFICE IN 2006

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 25, NOYAN TAPAN . In 2006 Yerevan Mayor's
Office did work of 72 bln drams (about 197 mln USD) or by 6.1%
more than envisaged. Yerevan Mayor Yervand Zakharian said at
the December 25 press conference that work of 57 bln 608 mln
drams was done by state budget resources, that of 5 bln 771.7
mln drams - at the expense of community budgets, the rest - from
other financing sources.
In his words, work of 580 mln drams was done in North
Avenue at the expense of state budget and work of 600 mln drams
- at the expense of other financing sources. The design work of
reconstructing Aram-Byuzand Streets and a new highway
connecting Heratsi and A. Avetisian Streets was completed.
According to the mayor, within the framework of the Master
Plan's measures, the project of territorial mapping of Yerevan
aglomeration and the design of reconstruction of interstate
highways connecting the city with adjacent marzes were
implemented.
Y. Zakharian said that work of 11 bln 236 mln drams was
done this year by the mayor's office and the communities in the
sphere of construction, improvement and municipal economy.
Based on it, studies of the technical state of 86 accident-prone
buildings and strengtening of 8 accident-prone buildings of
third degree were conducted. External lighting of 16 streets and
asphalt laying of 600 thousand square meters was also
implemented this year. The reconstruction of Isakov Street was
finished, for which 2 bln 390.9 mln drams was allocated, as well
as the reconstruction of Terian Street (602.9 mln drams).
Yerevan's Mayor said that 86 bln 324 mln drams will be
allocated from the state budget for programs' implementation
next year. In 2007 reconstruction of Komitas and Tigran the
Great Streets by resources of the Lincy Foundation, as well as
capital repairs of 5 schools will be completed.
