On July 20, the head of the Special Investigation Service Andranik Mirzoyan received the delegation headed by PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteur Axel Fischer. Issues related to the results of the investigation of the criminal case sued on the occasion of the “mass riots” in Yerevan taken place on March 1-2, 2008 were discussed during the meeting. A. Mirzoyan spoke about the work done after the orders made by RA President in detail and noted that the main goal of the investigation is the disclosure of the cases of the 10 dead people because of the riots. At the same time he recorded that the transparency of the criminal case is kept as it is possible and twice a month the head of the investigation group meets representatives of mass media. The quests evaluated the transparency of the investigation positive attaching importance to the formation of the atmosphere of confidence towards the results of investigation and the disclosure of the death of the 10 people will contribute to it.
