RA STATE BUDGET'S CURRENT EXPENDITURES INCREASE BY 14.9% IN
JANUARY-OCTOBER 2006 ON SAME PERIOD OF LAST YEAR

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 5, NOYAN TAPAN. In January-October 2006,
over 274.2 bln drams (about 645 mln USD) was allocated for
financing of the RA state budget's current expenditures, as a
result of which the annual program was executed by 77.4%.
Current expenditures grew by 14.9% or 35.6 bln drams on the same
months of 2005.
According to the RA Ministry of Finance and Economy, 11.1%
of current expenditures or 30.3 bln drams was allocated for
salaries of employees of state institutions. The annual program
on these expenditures was executed by 75.8%. Allocations on
salaries grew by 21.8% on the same period of last year, mostly
due to the increase of the basic rate of civil servants'
salaries since January 1, 2006.
In the first ten months of 2006, current transfers made
72.1 bln drams and accounted for 26.3% of the current budgetary
expenditures, and the annual program of current transfers was
executed by 80.1%. 21.9 bln drams of transfer allocations was
spent on benefits, 13.9 bln drams - on pensuons, and 12.2 bln
drams - on equalization subsidies for communities. Transfers
grew by 19.5% on the same period of 2005.
State budget subsidies of 15.7 bln drams in January-October
2006 accounted for 5.7% of current expenditures and secured a
80.3% execution of the annual program. The amount of subsidies
increased by 11.4% or 1.6 bln drams on the same months of 2005.
