YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 29, NOYAN TAPAN. For the republic
population the natural gas tariff will decrease 6 drams for 1
cubic metre and make 84 drams (0.22 U.S. dollars) from January
1, and it will grow for the industry 6.7 dollars and make 153.26
dollars for 1000 cubic metres. The RA Public Services Regulatory
Commission made the decision on November 29, examining the order
placed by the HayRusgasard company.
According to the claim, the company proposed to leave the
natural gas tariff unchanged for the population, and to make it
172.8 dollars for the industry. The HayRusgasard company motivated
rise of tariffs by rise of salaries in the company, addition
of new working places, widening of volumes of the gas
storehouse.
Karen Karapetian, the HayRusgasard Board Chairman, General
Executive Director, expressing his discontent with the decision
made by the commission, mentioned that it is possible that a new
order will be placed with the commission in six months.
Robert Nazarian, the commission Chairman, mentioned that the
government is to decide if six drams decreased in the tariff for
the population will make a part of subsidy or the population
will pay 6 drams less. To recap, by the government's decision,
the government pays as subsidy 25 drams out of the 90 drams, the
population pays the rest.
