YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 9, NOYAN TAPAN. At the November 9 sitting, the Armenian government made a decision on organizing the distribution of nitrogenius fertilizer at affordable prices among land users. According to the RA Government Information and PR Department, the adoption of this decision will enable Armenian land users to purchase nitrogenius fertilizer at low prices which will icrease the crop yield. It was proposed that the RA Village and Agriculture Assistance Fund provide a subsidy of 210 mln drams to the fertlizer supplying organization for supplying land users with 21 thousand tons of nitrogenius fertilizer at the price of 74 thousand drams (about 190 USD) for a ton. The maximum amount of fertilizer to be allocated to a beneficiary of the community is 500 kg. The decision was made given the fact the nitrogenius fertilizer consumed on the domestic market is mainly imported from Georgia where the price of nitrogenius fertilizer has risen in connection with an increase of the gas tariff in 2006.
