YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 9, NOYAN TAPAN. On November 8,
representative of Armenia Levon Aronian was defeated by Pyotr
Svidler (RF) in the international chess supertournament
dedicated to Mikhail Tal's memory, being held in Moscow.
Aronian with 1.5 points is in the middle of the tournament
table. The leader is Ruslan Ponomaryov (Ukraine) with 2.5
points. Pyotr Svidler (RF) and Boris Gelfand (Israel) have two
points each.
November 9 is announced a rest day in the tournament and on
November 10, in the 4th tour, Aronian will compete with Alexander
Shirov representing Spain.
