SEVERAL ARMENIAN COMPANIES PRODUCE AND SELL GOODS WITH
FAKE TRADE MARKS

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 8, NOYAN TAPAN. At the November 8
sitting, the RA State Commission on Protection of Economic
Competition made a decision to fine several economic entities in
the amount of 100 thousand drams (about 259 USD) each. The
decision was made in accordance with a provision of the RA Law
on Protection of Economic Competition, which bans an
entrepreneural activity that causes or may cause confusion with
the activity of another entity or its goods.
It was noted at the sitting that Loyal Alco company has
produced and sold vodkas with the trade marks "Triumfalnaya" and
"Stary Gorod" that resemble to the point of confusion the trade
marks of Argishti and Bun Vin Intertrade companies. Kids' Club
company has produced and sold a coffee, whose trade mark "Ice
Coffee" also included Nescafe's trade mark. Private businessman
Manvel Khechikian has produced and sold a coffee with the trade
mark "Dzu Dzu" which also contained Cafe Pele's trade mark.
