MOSCOW, NOVEMBER 7, NOYAN TAPAN. The highest, 20-class
international chess tournament dedicated to the memory of former
world champion Mikhail Tal started on November 6 in Moscow. Ten
participants of the tournament are grand masters and their
average rating is 2727. In the first tour, representative of
Armenia, olympic champion and winner of world cup, Levon Aronian
defeated Morozevich (Russia). Gelfand and Ponomaryov also gained
victories. The rest of the games of the tour ended in a draw.
