YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 6, NOYAN TAPAN. Yerevan Mayor's office
implemented by 100% the programs envisaged for the first nine
months of this year. Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Vano Vardanian
stated during the November 6 press conference that major repairs
of Artashisian, Kievian, Grogor Lusavorich, Tigran Petrosian and
Dro Streets, as well as repais of breast-walls of Paruyr Sevak,
Saralanji, Gayi and Moldovakan Streets were completed. According
to him, the Hrazdan Gorge - its section from Davidashen Bridge
to Arabkir gardens has been improved.
V. Vardanian said that asphalt covering of 564 thousand
sq.m. and repairs of the man-holes and kerbs in several streets
of Yerevan will finish by late November. In his words, an
irrigation network of the total length of 18 thousand meters was
repaired in Ajapniak, Davitashen, Kanaker-Zeytun and Arabkir
communities. The work on external lights of 13 streets is being
done.
According to the deputy mayor, 13 third degree
accident-prone apartment buildings were reinforced this year. A
study conducted by the research institute Armseismic on the
mayor's office instructions revealed that there are 72 third
degree accident-prone apartment buildings in Yerevan. On the
initiative of the mayor's office, these buildings will be
reinforced in the next few years.
