EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS OF SYNOPSYS ARMENIA USED AT MOSCOW
ELECTRONIC TECHNICS INSTITUTE

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 19, NOYAN TAPAN. An educational program
developed by the company Synopsys - a world leader in
semiconductor chip design and automated design tools production
has been used at the Moscow Electronic Technics Institute (METI)
since September of this year.
Gayane Markosian, spokeswoman for Synopsys Armenia CJSC,
Synopsys' Armenian branch, told NT correspondent that the
program was launched on June 16 based on the agreement reached
with METI during a working visit of Synopsys' delegation to
Moscow.
According to her, an agreement on cooperation was signed
betweem METI, Russia's leader in electronic technics development
and Synopsys in Moscow on October 6. Under this agreement,
Synopsys will provide METI with educational programs and
technological packages developed by the Education Department of
Synopsys Armenia, train lectureres involved in these programs
and head theses for a master's degree. A modern
auditorium-laboratory was founded at METI with all the necessary
equipment and 20 licence packages of Synopsys electronic design
program tools.
It is noteworthy that program tools of Synopsys are used in
over 450 educational institutions in various countries.
