METALLURGICAL PRODUCTION GROWS BY 5.7% IN ARMENIA IN FIRST
EIGHT MONTHS OF 2006 ON SAME PERIOD OF LAST YEAR

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 10, NOYAN TAPAN. In January-August 2006,
metallurgical production of Armenia made 73 bln 326.8 mln drams
(about 168.4 mln USD), which exceeds the index of the same
period of last year by 5.7%.
According to the RA National Statistical Service, in the
indicated period, out of the main metallurgical products, the
production of molybdenum concentrate grew by 41.6%, that of
copper concentrate - by 8.9%, while the production of
feromolybdenum and black copper declined by 12.3% and 8.6%
respectively.
In the first eight months of 2006, metal ores of 70 bln
499.5 mln USD were extracted, which exceeds by 1.8% the
respective index of 2005.
