YEREVAN, OCTOBER 9, NOYAN TAPAN. Hakob Hakobian, NA deputy elected from Echmiadzin, member of the NA People's Deputy group, who recently joined the Republican Party of Armenia, was arrested on October 9. According to the official website of the RA Police, the Masis police department on October 8 received information that an act of hooliganism with the use of a gun was committed in the village of Hayanist. Upon arriving at the scene of the crime, the operative group found out that on the same day at about 2:30 pm the deputy argued with Gevorg Sargsian and Vardan Vardanian, both members of the RA Federation of Full Contact who served on a contractual basis in the computer station of ArmRusgazprom CJSC in the village. The cause of the quarrel was that H. Hakobian entered the premises of the station. As a result of the scuffle that followed the quarrel, Hayk Vardanian , 33, Chairman of the RA Federation of Full Contact, Egdar Poghosian, 23, coach of the same federation, Seryozha Barseghian, 33, the deputy's driver were all taken to hospital. A Winchester gun was found and confiscated at the scene of the crime. H. Hakobian was arrested. A criminal case was opened by the prosecutor's office of Ararat marz. During the October 9 press conference, RA National Assembly Speaker, RPA Deputy Chairman Tigran Torosian said, in response to a reporter's question that he was not unaware of the incident, adding that if the deputy had been arrested, the NA Speaker should have been informed about it. "If someone starts a quarrel, this is a act deserving condemnation. And everybody involved should be punished irrespective of the position he holds," T.Torosian said.
