IT IS PLANNED TO SET CRIMINAL LIABILITY FOR DENYING OR
JUSTIFYING GENOCIDE

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 4, NOYAN TAPAN. According to the bill "On
Making Amendments and Additions to RA Criminal Code" adopted in
the first reading at RA National Assembly October 4 sitting,
criminal liability is set for denying, mitigating, approving or
justifying genocide or other crimes aimed against peace and
mankind's security. It is proposed that fine amounting to from
100-fold to 300-fold minimum salary (1000 drams) or imprisonment
of maximum 4 years be used as a sanction for the above mentioned
actions.
The bill "On Making Additions to RA Law "On Social
Protection of Children Having Remained Without Parents' Care"
was also passed in the first reading. The bill envisages to
raise the monthly salary of employees of state specialized
institutions carrying out care for children of the above
mentioned category. The latter's amount, in particular, cannot
be lower than three-fold minimum salary set in the country, with
additional payment of 50% of employee's tariff salary.
The bill "On Making Amendments and Additions to RA Law "On
Social Security of Servicemen and Members of Their Family" was
adopted in the second reading and completely at the sitting.
