YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 20, NOYAN TAPAN. 10 milliard drams (nearly 22.2 mln USD) was allocated from the 2006 State Budget to the education sphere, 1.2 milliard of which for the repairs of 15 schools under the subordination of the Mayor's office. As Onik Vatian, the Head of the Education Department of the Mayor's Office, informed at the February 20 press conference, repairs will be implemented in 5 schools of the capital with the resources of the RA Social Fund. Besides, according to the preliminary facts, 9 Yerevan schools will be included in the second program of the "Lincy" foundation. According to the Head of the Department, those are schools, that haven't been repaired for many years and today they are in a sad condition. According to O.Vatian, today 80% of the 205 schools that are under the subordination of the Mayor's office are in a good state. The Head of the Department also informed that 44 schools of the capital are already provided with an individual system of local heating and in some years all the schools of the capital will have such a system.
