NEW VICTORIES OF ARMENIAN CHESS-PLAYERS IN INTERNATIONAL
TOURNAMENTS

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 2, NOYAN TAPAN. Armenian chess-players
made new success in a number of international competitions held
lately. International master Beniamin Galstian (Yerevan) gained
7.5 points out of 9 possible ones and was never defeated in the
traditional tournament held for the 14th time in Tehran. He
shared 1-8th places with grand masters Neverov (Ukraine),
Gleyzerov (Russia), Ghaem Maghami, Moradiabadi, international
masters Malahi, Ghanen and Ardeshi (Iran) in the competition
among 278 chess-players. B.Galstian was recognized the winner as
his tournament coefficients were higher than those of the
others.
And Davit Zakarian took the first place in the
international tournament held in the Greek city of Salonika.
The young chess-player gained 7.5 out of 8 possible points.
Taking the first place among 105 participants, Zakarian got the
right to take part in the open championship of Greece.
