LILIT MKRTCHIAN NOT TO BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN
AEROFLOT-OPEN TOURNAMENT

YEREVAN, JANUARY 27, NOYAN TAPAN. As of January 27, grand
master Lilit Mkrtchian and her father are still in hospital. As
Gagik Hovhannisian, Armenian Chess Federation Secretary General,
informed Noyan Tapan correspondent, though they are out of
danger, they should be under medical control for some more days.
To recap, on January 20, when returning home, to the
village of Parpi, Ashtarak region, from the Yerevan Club
Championship, L.Mkrtchian and her parents accompanying her had a
car accident. The chess-player had a concussion of the brain
and broke her arm.
L.Mkrtchian won't be able to take part in the Aeroflot-Open
large tournament to start in early February in Moscow but she
will participate in the Women's World Chess Championship to be
held in spring in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg.
