YEREVAN, OCTOBER 13, NOYAN TAPAN. The Armenian championship of sports gymnastics came to an end. The main struggle went on among 3 strong gymnasts in men's competitions. They were Vahagn Stepanian, Haroutiun Merdinian and Artyom Avetian. V.Stepanian took the first place and became the champion of Armenia in multiathlon. H.Merdinian and A.Avetian took the 2nd and 3rd places, respectively. Astghik Gyulnazarian got the title of a champion in women's multiathlon. She had also performed very successfully at the international series of competitions held lately in Iran. Anna Yeghian and Hasmik Manasian became 2nd and 3rd prize-winners of the Armenian championship. Important competitions await the 2 strongest gymnasts of Armenia, Vahagn Stepanian and Haroutiun Merdinian, in the future. They will take part in the world cup tournament to be held in the German city of Schtutgart.
