YEREVAN SCHOOL TEACHERS' SALARIES TO INCREASE IN AVERAGE BY
10 THOUSAND DRAMS IN 2006

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 30, NOYAN TAPAN. In connection with
October 2, the Day of Teachers, Yerevan Mayor's certificates of
honor were handed to 64 headmasters and teachers of Yerevan
comprehensive, musics and sports schools and kindergartens for
their faultless work. As Yerevan Mayor Yervand Zakharian
mentioned during the reception organized on September 30 at
Yerevan Mayor's Office, teachers have a great contribution to
country's and nation's prosperity, as well as improvement of the
educational system.
Y.Zakharian informed that in 2006 10 bln drams (nearly 22.2
mln USD) is to be allocated from the state budget for teachers'
salaries, which exceeds the allocations of 2005 by 1.5 bln
drams. This will enable to increase teachers' salaries in
average by 10 thousand drams.
It was also mentioned that a number of Yerevan schools have
been repaired this year at the expense of nearly 1.6 bln drams
allocated by RA state budget and Fund of Social Investments. And
13 school buildings will be fundamentally repaired with the funds
to be allocated by the "Lincy" foundation in 2006-2007.
