ARMENIAN STATE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA TO OPEN ITS 9th CONCERT

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 22, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. The
2005-2006 9th concert season of Armenian State Chamber Orchestra
will open on September 24 by a concert to be held at Yerevan
"Aram Khachatrian" concert hall. 20-year-old talented violinist
Sergei Khachatrian will participate in the concert at the
invitation of the Chamber Orchestra. Bethoven's Symphony N 7 and
"Violin Concert" will be performed at the concert.
As Aram Gharabekian, Orchestra's Art Director and
Conductor, informed at the September 22 press conference,
S.Khachatrian who has lived in Germany since 1993 has
participated in many authoritative competitions and festivals,
but the violinist having great achievements in the musical
world has never performed in Armenia up to this day.
A.Gharabekian mentioned that this year S.Khachatrian has won the
grand prix at the authoritative competition after queen
Elizabeth in Brussels getting the right to use Stradivarius'
Haginz violin for a term of 4 years. But, according to Sergei
Khachatrian, at concerts to be held in Yerevan and Gyumri he
will play Gvadanini's violin made in the 18th century borrowed
from Baden-Vyurtenberg's Association of Ancient Musical
Instruments.
Touching upon the programs of Chamber Orchestra, Aram
Gharabekian said that by the end of the year the Orchestra will
have concerts in Armenian regions and in October will
participate in the international festival in Greek city
of Salonika.
