YEREVAN, MAY 5, NOYAN TAPAN. On May 14, on the initiative of the European Cultural Heritage Commission of Paris, the program "Night of Museums" will be held in the member-countries of the Council of Europe. As Gagik Gyurjian, the RA Deputy Minister of Culture and Youth Issues informed the Noyan Tapan correspondent, within the framework of the program, all the museums and galleries of Armenia will be open for art lovers free of charge till the midnight. Exhibitions on different themes will open in museums. G.Gyurjian also informed that the annual celebration "Days of European Heritage" will be held in September, which will be dedicated to the 1600th anniversary of the invention of the Armenian alphabet. The program "Days of European Heritage," officially adopted by the Council of Europe in 1991, has been held under the slogan "Europe: United Heritage" since 1999. The main goal of the program is to draw citizens of Europe closer to thier cultural values and save the endangered cultural heritage.
