COOPERATION WITH WORLD BANK HAS PRODUCED SERIOUS RESULTS,
ROBERT KOCHARIAN SAYS

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 14, NOYAN TAPAN. Receiving the World Bank
Regional Vice President For Europe and Central Asia Shigeo Katsu
on December 14, the Armenian president Robert Kocharian said the
cooperation with the World Bank has produced serious results so
far, and Armenia is interested in continuing it. According to
him, in parallel with implementing the second-generation
reforms, Armenia will focus on social and educational directions
and pay attention to reducing the disproportion in development
of marzes and the capital city and extending the field of
intellectual services.
S. Katsu in his turn stated that in the past years, Armenia
has been among the WB partner-states with the best performance.
According to him, the second and third-generation reforms, as
well as institutional reforms will be pivotal ones in WB
cooperation programs with Armenia in the coming years.
NT was informed by the RA president's press service that
during the meeting the sides also exchanged ideas about
Armenia's opportunities to retain its competitiveness in the
future. It was pointed out that the consistent and efficient
implementation of reforms will play a decisive role in this
issue.
