YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 26, NOYAN TAPAN. Construction, development, and restoration work of 10bn drams (nearly 33.3m dollars) has been implemented by Yerevan Mayor's Office this year. As Frunz Basentsian, the Head of the Construction and Development Department of Mayor's Office, informed journalists on November 26, reinforcement of eight accident-prone blocks of flats of third degree has been already completed, irrigation network repair in Achapniak and Shengavit communities has been finished. Lighting networks have been reconstructed in 77 streets, and next year it is envisaged to completely finish lighting work of Yerevan streets. In total, asphalting of 420 thousand sq.m. has been done in Yerevan's streets, as well as capital repairs of 280 thousand sq.m. have been completed in Sasuntsi David, Sebastia, Azatutiun streets. According to the Head of the Construction and Development Department, the construction of underground passages will be finished by December 15 and of Kievian-Orbeli transport junction by December 25. The construction work being implemented in Khanjian-Tigran Mets streets will be completely finished in 2008.
