The OSCE Office in Yerevan will present a training manual for law enforcement on combating human trafficking tomorrow. As building the capacity of law enforcement agencies to fight trafficking is a priority in Armenia’s Anti-Trafficking National Action Plan for 2010-2012, the OSCE and the International Labour Organization (ILO) support the government and civil society to reach these goals by providing the tools to improve the implementation of the country’s national referral mechanism. The manual, designed for prosecutors, police, judges, border guards and labour inspectors, was prepared by four national experts as part of a multi-year regional project implemented by the OSCE Office in Yerevan in co-operation with the ILO and funded by European Union. Together with the train–the-trainers methodology prepared and supported by the same actors in 2011, law enforcement training schools and academies now will be able to offer sustainable anti-trafficking education for students and trainees. Carel Hofstra, the Deputy Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan, Arthur Osikyan, the Deputy Head of the Armenian Police, and Deputy Prosecutor General Mnatsakan Sarkisyan will present the manual, National Public Information Officer of the OSCE Office in Yerevan informs.
