Explosion in Stavropol leaves victims and dozens of injured, including Armenians

STAVROPOL, 27 MAY, NOYAN TAPAN-HAYERN AYSOR: On May 26, huge explosion took place in the center of the Russian city of Stavropol. According to the latest information, 6 people died, 46 are injured and 39 have been transferred to the hospital. The list of victims and the injured has been released. There are only injured Armenians, including Diana Melkumyan, 16; Liana Melkumyan, 8 and David Markisyants, 21. Through a “hotline” opened in Stavropol for the incident, “Azatutyun” radio found out that the injured Armenians are in normal condition. They were not transferred to the hospital and were sent home after receiving medical aid.
A criminal case on terrorist acts has been brought up.
The explosion took place near the Culture Chamber just 15 minutes before the performance by the Chechen “Vaynakh-Caucasus Legend” state dance ensemble.
Governor Valery Gayevski said “the terrorist act in Stavropol is a tragedy and a cruel, unprecedented provocation.”
