On September 7 the First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia Davit Tonoyan met Chargé d'affaires a.i. of the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia Mr. Dirk Lorenz. Mr. Lorenz introduced to the First Deputy Minister of Defence of Armenia the newly appointed political officer of the Delegation Andrea Cholupova. For his part, Mr. Tonoyan informed the gust on strategic command-post exercise “SHANT-2015” held from 3 to 6 September, its purpose and framework. The First Deputy Minister of Defence also gave details of the situation present and incidents occurred on Armenian-Azerbaijani state border and Kharabakh- Azerbaijani confrontation line. Mr Tonoyan expressed concern over the frequent ceasefire violations, as well as the use of large-caliber weapons Chargé d'affaires a.i. of the Delegation of the European Union Mr Lorenz reiterated the EU concern and calls for restraint on the ground, strict respect of the ceasefire and continuation of efforts towards an early peaceful and comprehensive settlement, led by the OSCE Minsk Group"
