Agreement on control of infrastructure construction signed
within framework of irrigated agriculture subprogram

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 16, NOYAN TAPAN. The Millennium Challenge
Account (MCA) - Armenia SNCO and the Consortium of Consulting
Engineers Salzgitter GmbH, AHT Group AG (Germany) and Yerevan
State University of Architecture and Construction on February 16
signed an agreement, by which the Consortium will control the
construction of infrastructures within the framework of the
Irrigated Agriculture subprogram. The agreement was signed by
CEO of MCA-Armenia Ara Hovsepian and the head of the
Consortium's working group Valdemar Palmtag.
The agreement envisages control of the restoration of 6
main canals and 7 gravity systems, the repairs of 17 pumping
stations, as well as the restoration of a drainage system and
several inter-farm canals in Ararat Valley. The Consortium will
also organize working seminars on quality control and the use of
international construction technologies, standards and
requirements.
The cost of the agreement makes 2.9 million dollars. It
will be in effect during the implementation of the MCA-Armenia
Compact.
