USE OF GAS STOVES AND OLD WATER HEATERS INEXPEDIENT FROM
VIEWPOINT OF SAFETY OF IN-HOUSE GAS CONSUMPTION SYSTEMS

YEREVAN, JUNE 4, NOYAN TAPAN. It is the second year that
AEG Service company has provided technical services for in-house
gas consumption systems in Armenia. The director of the company
Samvel Mherian said at the June 4 meeting with representatives
of NGOs that 432,487 checkups were made and 410,863 users were
serviced last year.
70,956 protocols on technical safety violations were drawn
up as a result of these checkups. In accordance with agreements
signed with residents, an employee of the system must make two
checkups a year. The company also plans to install gas boilers -
on conditions that the installation sum will be paid later.
The deputy director of ArmRusgasprom company Ashot
Hovsepian said that the use of gas stoves and old water heaters
currently causes concern from the viewpoint of in-house systems'
safety. He reminded that ArmRusgasprom is responsible for safety
of these systems.
By a decision, the annual payment for technical services
has been established at 2,400 drams (about 7.8 dollars) for one
gas appliance, at 5,700 drams for two, and the payment makes
6,900 drams in case of availability of three and more gas
appliances.
