YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 25, NOYAN TAPAN. A round table on the subject "Issues of Development of Model Social Policy and Social Partnership at Communal Level" was held on September 25 on the initiative of the Commission on Issues of Local Self-Government under RA President, Mission Armenia charity NGO and Republican Association of Armenian Communities. Problems related to elaboration and introduction of an efficient social policy conception at the communal level, as well as development of social partnership in communities were discussed at the meeting. As expert Ashot Yesayan mentioned, 930 Armenian communities have many problems which are not presented in the Poverty Reduction Strategic Program adopted by RA government in 2003 August. In his words, "being a big structure the government is just unable to notice all problems faced by the communities." A.Yesayan said that local self-government bodies should be given powers of implementation of social programs for this purpose. In his words, this will enable to make more accessible and concrete social assistance rendered by the state.
