GREAT BRITAIN TO CONDUCT MAY 13 CONCERT OF STATE PHILHARMONIC

YEREVAN, MAY 11, NOYAN TAPAN. By the invitation of the
State Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia (SPOA), Alexander
Ivashkin, a famous conductor and cellist, who will conduct the
concert to be held at the Yerevan "Aram Khachatrian" Concert
Hall on May 13, arrived in Armenia from the Great Britain. As
the Noyan Tapan correspondent was informed from the SPOA, works
by Piotr Tchaikovsky, Alfred Schnittke, Bethoven and Tigran
Mansurian will be performed at the concert. Cellist Karen
Kocharian will perform Tchaikovsky's "Rokoko Variations."
Alexander Ivashkin, the Director of the London Russian
Music, the London Chamber Music Centers and the International
Competition of Cellists after Adam had concerts in 30 countries
of the world performing works with the best orchestras of
Europe, Russia, the USA and Australia. He has cooperated with
famous composers, and Schnittke has written several works
specially for him. A.Ivashkin is the author of a number of books
which were published in Russia, England, the USA, Italy, Germany
and Japan.
