I would like to thank you for the trust you have shown over the years. Hakob Arshakyan

The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the 8th convocation, Hakob Arshakyan, has made a post on his Facebook page.

«Dear compatriots,

I want to thank you for the trust you have shown over the years. Your support, love, and warmth have given me the strength to move forward and confidently overcome challenges that often seemed impossible at every stage of my work.

I have always regarded my service to the state and the mandate you have given me with great honor and responsibility. In these years filled with challenges and opportunities, we have put in all our efforts together with my colleagues to make Armenia a more independent, stronger, and more competitive state.

The roads are the blood vessels of the state. In 2018, unprecedented investments and consistent work were carried out to restore the deplorable road network we inherited, which allowed us to fundamentally change the long-established practices, multiplying both the volumes of road construction and the quality standards.

Today, we can confidently say that Armenia's road network serves our citizens, contributes to the development of the economy, and often receives positive evaluations from visitors to our country.

As a result of investments aimed at establishing self-sufficient and modern production of weapons and ammunition, products and technological solutions are now being created in Armenia that are not only supplied to the Armenian armed forces but are also competitive in the international market and in demand abroad.

As a result of just a few years of consistent work in the defense industry, an industry with an annual turnover of about 150–200 million US dollars has been formed, and dozens of production enterprises and research centers have been established.

This was one of the main strategic goals set before the defense industry committee of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, and today it has become a reality thanks to the consistent and dedicated work of the ministry, the committee, sector organizations, the Ministry of Defense, and all partners.

One of the primary goals of establishing the Ministry of High-Tech Industry was also to ensure breakthrough development in the field of leading technologies. To this end, numerous strategic programs have been developed, implemented, and are still being carried out.

In 2018, the sector's share in the gross domestic product jumped from about 1.7% to 7.5%. Approximately 2.5 billion US dollars worth of high-tech services and products are exported from Armenia to the USA, EU, Asian, and Arab markets, which has been made possible thanks to the knowledge, creative work, and dedication of around 50,000 highly qualified specialists.

Today, Armenia is considered one of the top five countries in the world in the development of supercomputing capabilities in artificial intelligence. Armenia is also one of the few countries that has the opportunity to acquire the most advanced technological equipment and tools. This has been made possible especially due to the skillful foreign policy work establishing a strategic partnership between Armenia and the USA.

Among hundreds of other companies, global leading technology companies have entered Armenia, including NVIDIA (company market value: 4.86 trillion US dollars), AMD (around 500 billion US dollars), Microchip (around 45 billion US dollars), and Cadence (around 95 billion US dollars).

For the first time in Armenia's history, Armenia has launched its own artificial satellite for Earth observation and created a satellite control center.

These are strategic achievements and require continuous development, consistent work, and daily attention to serve the long-term development and security of the Republic of Armenia.

During my parliamentary activity, my primary duty was to remain faithful to the mandate given by our people, to ensure the smooth operation of the National Assembly, and to contribute to the effective functioning of the parliamentary institution together with my colleagues.

The issue of the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia has always been at the center of numerous complex and sometimes sharp political discussions. It has continuously been subjected to various internal and external challenges, which has obliged us to defend and strengthen our statehood through consistent and principled work.

Parliamentary diplomacy on international platforms is one of the most important tools for shaping the state's reputation, presenting Armenia's positions, and raising international awareness about the challenges facing our country. Armenia's interests and positions have been consistently presented in the CIS, Inter-Parliamentary Union, ASEAN, Mediterranean countries, and other multilateral parliamentary formats.

Within the framework of bilateral inter-parliamentary relations, I have led important directions of cooperation with Russia, China, and India. As a result of joint work, in several cases, it has been possible to reduce existing tensions, create new and effective platforms for dialogue, expand the bilateral parliamentary agenda, organize official reciprocal visits, committee meetings, and joint activities of working groups, covering the fields of political, economic, humanitarian, educational, youth, and cultural cooperation.

Through daily work, together with the President and Vice President of the National Assembly, we have consistently ensured the smooth functioning of the parliament, maintaining its effective work as the highest representative body of the country.

The parliament is the main platform of political life in Armenia and, therefore, one of the main targets of forces hostile to our statehood. It constantly requires responsible treatment, strong institutions, and consistent protection. I wish my parliamentary colleagues strength, resilience, and success in continuing this important mission.

I wish the Government of the Republic of Armenia, led by the Prime Minister, success and effective work for the benefit of our state and people.

Today marks the end of an important phase of my public service. However, I am confident that serving the homeland is not limited to holding a public office.

In the near future, I will continue my activities in the private, educational, and public sectors, dedicating my knowledge and experience to the scientific and technological advancement of Armenia, the development of innovation, and the strengthening of human capital.
I am convinced that these directions are the most important prerequisites for our country's long-term security, competitiveness, and prosperity.

I would like to express my special gratitude to all my colleagues in the public administration system, in the National Assembly, in the scientific and professional communities, as well as to all those people with whom I have had the honor to work. Every achievement is the result of joint work, and I deeply appreciate each person's contribution.

And finally, I once again thank the citizens of the Republic of Armenia for their trust, support, and the path we have traveled together. I apologize if I have not been able to fully meet your expectations.

Public offices are temporary, while the readiness to serve the Republic of Armenia is permanent.

With respect and deep gratitude,

Always yours, Hakob Arshakyan»
