This week is a Volunteering week in Orange. From September 17 to 24 in Armenia and in 15 other countries all over the world over 6000 Orange employees will contribute some of their time to different non-profit organizations and educational institutions to share their professional skills with them. This initiative covers a variety of areas including web site improvement, usage of social sites and dissemination of information through them, improvement of internet skills, application of different computer software, etc. “We are proud of those Orange employees who in these days in their countries show their support to different non-profit organizations and volnurable groups in a variety of areas – from support for the disabled to increasing internet literacy. Through volunteering activities our employees act as true members of society and live with our values at a time. We want them to do this volunteer work for one purpose only – just for doing good to people. I’m convinced that during these volunteering activities they will learn just as much as they share,” said Stephane Bouche, Vice President, European HR/Recruitment, France Telecom-Orange Group, who is in Armenia these days. 20 non-profit organizations operating in Armenia have become interested in this previously announced volunteeing project and have presented their needs to Orange. 18 Orange employees from Marketing, Accounting, IT and Sales Departments, having applied for participation in this initiative, will support the interested organizations in the following areas including creation and coordination of electronic newsletter, making of a marketing plan, creation and coordination of web sites, application of Microsoft Excel in accounting, improvement of internet navigation skills, etc., and even dancing as the employees have expressed wish to share not only their professional experiences, but hobbies as well. The organizations having applied for such support from Orange are non-profit organizations developing their activities in a variety of fields, such as education, music, environment, women’s rights protection. There is also a medical center among these institutions. Part of them are located in regions, which means that during this week Orange volunteers will visit Dsegh village in Lori region, Talin town in Aragatsotn region, Gavar town in Gegharkunik region, Charentsavan town in Kotayk region, etc., and two of them will provide support and consulting to organizations in Tavush marz via video call.
